New Feature: Impact Statements for Charities

In our modern world, time is a scarcity. We all feel this in a variety of different ways, so it should come as no surprise that donors feel it as well when they’re deciding when and how to make donations to charity.

Fortunately for charities, it just became easier than ever to help your donors understand all the awesome ways the world gets better when they donate to you — right at the moment when donors care the most.

Now on Streamlabs Charity, every non-profit’s donation page comes with support for impact statements; short descriptions that summarize the effect that the donation will have.

Previously, if a donor wanted access to this information, they’d have to exit your donation page and do their own research on the internet to find it (or not). This takes time though, and most donors just want to make a donation quickly and get back to the charity stream they’re watching.

By telling donors about the good work you’re doing and the impact their donations will have, you can help them feel proud about the incredible contribution they’re making, help them be excited to be a part of the solution you’re building, and encourage them to take a more active interest in your nonprofit organization.

Add your impact statements

It’s really easy. All you need to do is login as a charity and visit your page settings. Then, click on Donation Form in the sidebar to add your impact statements.

We recommend using complete sentences here (it’s just a bit easier for people to read). It’s also as good idea to add an impact summary into the “Custom Message” field, to give donors a sense of your missions and /or accomplishments.

While you’re here, you may notice that this area got a bit of a facelift. We added functionality that gives you a ton of extra control over how this page looks, so you can now update your page colors, fonts, images, and URL’s. You can also copy the embed code to paste this donation form on other websites.

The willingness to engage and communicate with donors is a big part of what makes a charity successful in fundraising. We hope impact statements and summaries will help you on this path, and look forward to publishing more great features that assist you in your efforts.
